West Ham are reportedly linked with William Carvalho.

West Ham have been linked with a move, again, for William Carvalho, Estadio Deportivo.

This may simply be the check box needed in every West Ham transfer window, or perhaps this time, it will finally amount to a move.

Carvalho could not have done more in his recent international appearance, which potentially caught West Ham’s attention.

He bossed the midfield for Portugal in the UEFA Nations League final, shutting down Dutch sensation Frenkie De Jong.

De Jong has just made a £65 million switch to Barcelona, and as it stands, he will go up against Carvalho for his club next season.

West Ham can do De Jong a favour by snapping Carvalho up from Real Betis.

His move to Spain removes the club having to renew the bitter relations with Sporting, after their botched 2017 pursuit of the midfielder.

He will be an expensive option for the Hammers, Betis won’t sell cheaply. His recent international performance may suggest he is worth it.
