Tottenham have been tracking the Leeds youngster for much of the summer so far, but have failed to get a deal over the line.
It was thought that Spurs would make a bid for Clarke after tying up some more high profile targets.
However, it is now believed that Leeds asking price for Clarke has put Spurs off.
With Tottenham fans desperate for a signing, the news has frustrated supporters, who feel that they should just pay Leeds what they want.

you can just copy and paste this when talking about literally any transfer rumour at this point, Ricky.
Unfortunately we're always after a cheap deal. When is someone going to tell Levy they don't exist anymore. Get with the times @SpursOfficial— George (@GEORGIE_35) June 14, 2019
While ENIC are running the show expect many more years of this....— Dan (@ElCapitain82) June 14, 2019
yes in usual Tottenham style they will wait 12 months then try and get him when his value has doubled...— michael (@arwmjc) June 13, 2019
Should make the effort and pay what’s due this summer to take him. Maybe let him stay at Leeds for next season. He could be a very useful player— GAVIN D (@gavindavies80) June 13, 2019
Stock standard line. But I don’t know how a bloke in the Championship can be valued so high. Give me a break Leeds. When you fail to make the EPL the following season he’s value will drop.— DAMIEN (@DamienDzanic) June 13, 2019

Clarke appears to be a real talent, but his form towards the back end of the campaign at Elland Road may have given Spurs some second thoughts.
Clarke would be unlikely to walk straight into Tottenham’s starting line-up, but could be a great option to utilise from the bench next season, if they were to pay Leeds what they want.
