Sunderland owner Stewart Donald has taken to Twitter to assure the club’s fans that signings will be made in the summer transfer window.

The Black Cats will play in League One next season after failing to clinch promotion to the Championship.

Jack Ross’s side finished in the League One playoffs, but they lost to Charlton Athletic in the final at Wembley Stadium in London.

 

Sunderland have yet to announce a signing in the summer transfer window, but club owner Donald has stated on Twitter that players will be brought to the Stadium of Light this summer.

Chasing promotion

Sunderland have a strong team and had arguably the best squad in League One this past season.

The Black Cats, though, had too many draws, and that is the main reason why they could not finish in the automatic promotion places.

If manager Ross is given the funds to make the signings he wants in the summer transfer window, then the Black Cats will be in a very strong position to challenge for automatic promotion to the Championship.
