Slaven Bilic is hoping to make Tolgay Arslan his first signing since taking over at West Bromwich Albion, according to Fanatik.

The former West Ham and Croatia boss was named as the Baggies' new manager on Thursday and he will be tasked with guiding the club back to the Premier League after they lost to local rivals Aston Villa in the Championship play-off semi-final last month.

Bilic’s first task is to build a team in his own image and the 50-year-old will need to prioritise new midfielders with Gareth Barry, James Morrison and Rekeem Harper all out of contract.

And Fanatik believes that Bilic could look to strengthen West Brom’s options in the centre of the park by making a move for his one-time Besiktas enforcer Arslan.

In fact, Bilic was the Besiktas manager when Arslan arrived in Istanbul from Hamburg in January 2015. The 28-year-old, who played for Germany at U21 level, is currently plying his trade at Fenerbahce.

And with Fener under pressure to sell a number of their key players for financial reasons, Arslan could be about to reunite with Bilic at The Hawthorns.
