Aston Villa are reported to be planning a move for Lewis Dunk as their spending spree continues.
The Sun reports Villa's interest in the £30 million rated defender, just hours after the club agreed a deal to sign striker Wesley Moraes.
Dunk isn't a goalscorer like Moraes, but a deal would be even more impressive, and not just because it will cost more money.
Villa landing Dunk would be a signal of their ambition to their competitors, poaching a Premier League regular, from a team which has become well established in the top flight.
It would also be a knock to Leicester City, who had lined up Dunk as a replacement for Harry Maguire, Teamtalk reported this week.
Leicester finished in ninth place and will be looking to improve on that next season.
Villa beating them to a player would be an impressive statement of ambition, showing they too will be targeting more than just survival.
Moraes is an impressive deal, but plenty of teams have spent big on players from leagues abroad with underwhelming results.
Not many teams have had the gall to go straight up and splash £30 million on a top flight regular.
