According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are ready to send new signing Jake Hastie out on loan next season in order to gain first-team experience.
The Gers were impressed with Hastie's impact with Motherwell in 2019, as he hit seven goals in 15 games from the right flank, impressing with his blistering pace.
Hastie only recently signed a pre-contract agreement with Rangers, but it's believed that he'll already head out on loan, and a move to England wouldn't be surprising.
Rangers saw Greg Docherty impress in League One with Shrewsbury Town this past season, whilst Glenn Middleton is heading to Doncaster Rovers on loan, meaning the Gers may fancy loaning Hastie to a third-tier English side too.
Jack Ross should know all about Hastie given his knowledge of the Scottish game, and he would certainly fill a need for Sunderland after Lewis Morgan's return to Celtic this summer.
Having Aiden McGeady on the left and Hastie on the right would make Sunderland a real threat going forward, and Rangers should be looking for Hastie to be in a winning side – and Sunderland should be just that next season.
A year-long loan at the Stadium of Light would be ideal for Hastie and Rangers, whilst bringing real pace and athleticism to the Sunderland side, who were often lacking that cutting edge in the final third to turn draws into wins, so bringing in a talent like Hastie may just help rectify that.
