The Brazilian left Liverpool for Barcelona 18 months ago.
Barcelona wished Philippe Coutinho a happy birthday via a post on Twitter yesterday, but some Liverpool fans hijacked the tweet, mocking the Brazilian for his failed stint with the Catalan giants.
The 27-year-old left Anfield for Barca in January 2018 for a fee believed to be worth £142 million, according to BBC Sport, but he has really struggled at the Camp Nou, racking up just 21 goals and 11 assists in 76 appearances in all competitions thus far.
Coutinho seems to be s shadow of the player he was at Liverpool, and the £142 million that the Merseyside outfit received for his services is now beginning to look like outstanding business for them.
Liverpool brought in Alisson Becker, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Shaqiri with the Coutinho money, and it is hard to argue that they are not a much improved side with those four players.
The Brazilian turned 27 yesterday, and Barcelona posted a video to Twitter in light of the occasion:
And here are some of the best responses from Liverpool fans…

There have been rumours that Coutinho could leave Barcelona, but a return to Liverpool does seem unlikely.
Reds fans will claim that he wouldn’t even get in their team now, and the way Jurgen Klopp’s men played over this past season, they might just have a point.
