Liverpool will be looking to add more legs to their squad this summer as they push for another Premier League title challenge.

French outlet Foot Mercato are reporting that Liverpool are keen on the services of Porto striker Moussa Marega, who will be well known to the Anfield supporters and their manager Jurgen Klopp.

On their way to Champions League glory, Liverpool beat Porto during the quarter-final stages, with Marega playing in both encounters.

In the end, it was a comfortable win for the Premier League team, who won the first leg at Anfield 2-0 before they demolished the Portuguese champions 4-1 in the reverse leg.

Striker Marega featured in those encounters, and even though his team did not progress, Klopp was impressed with the 28-year-old, as he had this to say about him after the first leg.

"We had to defend a few too many balls in the last line, which they did well with. You saw how physically strong the striker [Marega] is. Unbelievable!," Klopp said at the time, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

"And I heard outside that he was a little bit ill. If he’s not ill, it will be a really tough one in Portugal!"

French outlet Foot Mercato point out that if Marega were to part ways with his current club then he would cost £27 million, with West Ham also keen on his signature.

Given Marega's age, and the reported fee touted for him, it would be a slight surprise if Klopp and Co. were to push forward for a deal for the powerful forward.

But given the fact that Klopp was highly impressed with what he saw of the player on a pretty big stage in Europe then his interest shouldn't really surprise many.
