The Celta Vigo forward would be a superb addition for Everton.

Everton boss Marco Silva will be keen to bolster his ranks at Goodison Park this summer.

The Toffees are crying out for an out-and-out centre-forward, and if they manage to sign an established hitman, they will be in a great position from which to make a push for the top six next season.

And with this in mind, Everton should be challenging the likes of West Ham for the signature of Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez, who could be available for £43.5 million this summer, according to a report from the Guardian.

The Uruguayan, 22, has racked up 31 goals and 10 assists in 75 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit over the past two seasons, and he would be an excellent addition for the Blues.

Gomez is a strong centre-forward, but he is also quick along the ground, and he seems to possess all of the attributes needed to be a success in the Premier League.

The Uruguay international has the ability to lead the line on his own, and surrounded by players like Richarlison, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Theo Walcott, he would surely flourish at Everton.

Gomez is a reported transfer target for Liverpool this summer, according to the Sun, but Everton have the advantage of being able to offer the striker guaranteed first team football.

And should Silva manage to bring the Celta Vigo ace to Merseyside this summer, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Everton.
