On their way to making a return to the Premier League, Aston Villa beat West Bromwich Albion in the play-off semi-finals.

West Bromwich Albion supporters on Twitter are in meltdown because reports suggest that Aston Villa are about to snap up their Academy Manager Mark Harrison.

The Birmingham Mail have reported that Albion, who were beaten in the play-off semi-finals by Villa last month, are about to lose their academy manager to their Midland rivals.

It is said that Harrison, who has been in charge of Albion’s academy set-up since 2006, is about to head towards Villa Park and fill a role in their academy as they prepare for the Premier League.

It is fair to say that West Brom fans on Twitter have not taken to the reported news too well as their summer is beginning to start off in the worst possible manner.

West Brom’s current owners are taking some serious hits from the Hawthorns supporters, who don’t think that the club is being run properly.

As for Villa, after three years of suffering in England’s second-tier, they are finally back where they belong in the Premier League and they will be looking to make their mark once again.

Dean Smith is known to give younger players a chance to prove themselves and potentially signing such a highly-rated academy manager in Harrison may just work wonders for the club.

Here is a selection of Albion fans on Twitter reacting to Harrison’s potential departure:
