Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld faces a very uncertain future at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur fans are begging for Toby Alderweireld to come back next season, after he posted up a message to round up the past campaign.

The Tottenham defender was part of the Belgium side which beat Scotland 3-0 last night, in what was his last competitive game of the campaign.

Alderweireld will now go on holiday and contemplate his options, with his future at Spurs very uncertain.

Alderweireld is on record suggesting that he wants to stay at Tottenham next term.

However, the central defender has just a year remaining on his deal at White Hart Lane and has a release clause of just £25 million, as reported by the Guardian.

Tottenham are practically powerless to stop leaving Alderweireld leaving as things stand, but Spurs fans are hopeful that the commanding centre-back will put pen to paper on a new deal.

If Alderweireld was to sign a new contact it would be a huge boost to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Alderweireld has established himself as one of the finest defenders in the Premier League over the years, and finding a replacement would be very difficult.
