Everton are reportedly pushing to sign Bertrand Traore.

Lyon forward Bertrand Traore is being strongly linked with a move to Everton – but has told Onefootball that he has no idea whether he’ll be going or staying.

Traore, 23, may be familiar to some Premier League fans having joined Chelsea back in 2013, but he’s been really making a name for himself with Lyon.

The speedy Burkina Faso international joined the French side in 2017, and has racked up 29 goals and 12 assists in his two years with the club.

That’s a decent return, and his performances under Bruno Genesio have now sparked interest in his signature ahead of next season, with Everton the main contenders.

L’Equipe reported earlier this month that Everton have opened talks with Lyon about a deal for Traore, with Marco Silva wanting a left-footed right winger this summer.

Traore ticks the boxes, and Lyon may well choose to sell him rather than Maxwel Cornet, especially with Everton in a position to spend a considerable amount on him.

Now, Traore has suggested that he’s happy with Lyon and isn’t really looking beyond the three years left on his contract, but admitted that he doesn’t actually know whether he’s planning to stay or not – potentially giving Everton hope of a deal.

“I am well in Lyon. I still have a 3 year contract,” said Traore. “I do not know yet,” he added when asked whether he plans to stay.
