Tony Cascarino suggested on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT (9:36am, June 8, 2019) that reported Aston Villa target Gary Cahill will play in the Premier League next season following his release from Chelsea.
Cahill is out of contract at Chelsea and is leaving the London club, as announced on the Premier League outfit’s official website.
The 33-year-old centre-back, though, is in demand, with West Ham and Villa reported to be interested in the Englishman.
According to The Mirror (print edition, page 59, April 17, 2019), West Ham want to bring Cahill to the London Stadium this summer (click here to read more).
Cahill started his professional club football career at the Villans, and former Villa and Chelsea striker Cascarino believes that the defender will find a club in the Premier League.
Cascarino said about Cahill on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT (9:36am, June 8, 2019): “Gary will get a club. He will be in the Premier League.”
Cascarino has also given his take on Villa releasing 30-year-old defender Micah Richards, and said on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT (9:43am, June 8, 2019): “Micah Richards just disappeared.
“The lad that was a Man City player, international, looked like he had the world at his feet, went to Italy to play football, came back, went to Villa, and you literally forgot he was playing football, Micah Richards, which is a strange one.”
