Tony Cascarino suggested on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT (7:39am, June 9, 2019) where West Bromwich Albion winger Oliver Burke needs to improve.

The former Celtic and Republic of Ireland international striker believes that Burke needs to improve on his finishing.

Cascarino made the comments following the former Nottingham Forest winger’s winner for Scotland in their 2-1 victory over Cyprus in the European Championship Qualifying Group I at the weekend.

Former Manchester United, West Brom and Stoke City midfielder Darren Fletcher, who has played 80 times for Scotland, has also given his take on where Burke needs to improve.

Cascarino said about Burke on the Weekend Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT (7:39am, June 9, 2019): “He has got to work on his finishing. He has got to get totally back into being more of a predator-type goalscorer. With his pace, he reminds me a little bit of Shane Long where Shane does not get enough goals for the quality that he has got.”

Football.Scotland quotes Fletcher as saying about Burke: "He just needs to keep working on his game, listening to people, simplifying his game at times.

"When you've got pace, use it. Don't try to dribble and take five players on, pass it and run and keep asking questions of defenders.

"There is a talent in there and he is one of those players I think can click overnight and all of a sudden you are talking about one of the best.

"He needs to simplify his game and realise what he's good at. He's powerful, he's quick. Don't complicate it."
