Bernardo Silva posts Twitter message, some Manchester City fans erupt

The Citizens and Portugal midfielder has had a superb season for club and country, and there have been calls for him to win the Ballon d'Or.

Manchester City and Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva has taken to Twitter with a message for fans of club and country.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a superb 2018-19, helping the Citizens to a domestic quadruple - the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield.

As if that wasn't enough, Silva also helped the Selecao to their second trophy in three years as they won the inaugural UEFA Nations League, adding to their Euro 2016 triumph.

 

The Citizens ace was subsequently named Player of the Tournament following Portugal’s 1-0 final win over the Netherlands on Sunday evening.

There were even calls for Silva to win the Ballon D'Or:

Silva made 51 appearances for Man City in the season just gone, scoring 13 goals and registering 14 assists according to Transfermarkt.

Since joining the Etihad Stadium outfit in 2017 from AS Monaco, he has made 104 appearances, scoring 22 goals and claiming 25 assists in all competitions.
