According to a report from Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are interested in signing £37 million-rated Real Madrid ace James Rodriguez this summer, and Liverpool should surely be challenging the Series A outfit for the Colombian's signature.

The 27-year-old, who can operate as a winger or a midfield play-maker, has spent the last two seasons on loan in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich where he racked up 15 goals and 20 assists in 67 appearances in all competitions.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will surely be keen to bolster his attacking ranks at Anfield this summer, with more competition required for his current front three, and more creativity needed in the middle of the park.

And Rodriguez could be just the ticket for Liverpool, especially for just £37 million.

The Colombia international possesses exceptional technique, and his potent delivery and keen eye for a killer pass would surely help bring out the best in the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Klopp could opt to use Rodriguez in the number 10 position, on either flank or as part of a midfield three, so he would add great variety and competition to Liverpool's starting XI.

The Real Madrid star still has many years ahead of him at the very highest level, and for just £37 million, he could be the signing who takes Liverpool to another level next season.
