How to watch Big Little Lies season 2 in the UK: Better late than never!

Big Little Lies

Whether you fancy another watch or haven't got around to it yet, here's how to tuck into season 2.

We'll tell you what isn't a big little lie, and that's that David E. Kelley's series is phenomenal!

Critics praised season 1, and yes, season 2 went down a treat too thanks to returning performers and new faces, although not without its issues. The American drama series based on Liane Moriarty's novel of the same name premiered in 2017, much to the delight of almost everyone that saw it. Initially, it was billed as a miniseries, leading audiences to think that no more was on the way. Then again, due to its success, it's no surprise that they had a rethink behind the scenes and got to work on more episodes.

Season two landed a while ago now, but if you're playing catch up, let's talk about how to watch it now in the UK.

How to watch Big Little Lies season 2 in the UK

For UK audiences, season 2 episodes aired weekly on Sky Atlantic.

It's all aired now, so essentially, it's ready when you are! If you have Sky TV, it appears you can catch up on it on-demand. Although episodes were being added weekly to NOW TV during the premiere, unfortunately, the season is no longer available on the platform.

So, it looks like Sky is the place to go for your Big Little Lies fix; often with the prestigious shows, they're the pride and joy of the networks which show them, so not much sharing!

At the moment, you can actually pre-order the second season on DVD over on Amazon for £18.00, but a specific release date isn't available just yet. We'll keep our eyes peeled for an update. In the meantime, Sky's the word.

What's new with season two?

The first season was directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, best known for making Dallas Buyers Club, Demolition, and Wild, which like Big Little Lies, also stars the sensational Reese Witherspoon.

However, the second season is helmed by Andrea Arnold, who directed the exceptional 2016 road movie American Honey, but also Red Road and Fish Tank. She's an incredible filmmaker and a wonderful choice to tackle the series.

All of the cast were back to reprise their roles, but they certainly had their work cut out for them with the addition of Meryl Streep. The Academy Award-winning actress is often considered one of the greatest screen performers of all time, blowing viewers away across such efforts as Sophie's Choice, Doubt, The Devil Wears Prada and more.

How many episodes?

Just like the first season, season two contains yet another seven episodes to indulge in.

Be sure to check it out; you really don't want to be the one to miss out, so better late than never! We hope you enjoy it.
