France were beaten 2-0 in Turkey last night - and Everton's Lucas Digne had a night to forget.

France slipped to defeat last night, as they were beaten 2-0 by Turkey in their latest EURO 2020 qualifier, with Didier Deschamps' side enduring a nightmare in Konya.

After beating Bolivia 2-0 in a friendly, it was back to competitive action for Les Bleus on Saturday night, taking on Turkey in a tricky away trip.

Deschamps' men completely flopped on the night, with Kaan Ayhan giving Turkey the lead after France were caught out from a deep Cengiz Under free kick.

France were off the pace throughout the first half, and Under doubled the lead as it was again made clear that Turkey just seemed to want it that little bit more.

Poorly-weighted passes, half-hearted tackles, terrible positioning, France showed off all manner of bad habits in a shocking display, and Everton's Lucas Digne was a part of that.

The left back lost flight of the ball for the opener, and Deschamps chose to hook both him and Blaise Matuidi at half time, bringing on Ferland Mendy and Kingsley Coman in their places.

Everton's Lucas Digne

Digne enjoyed a fine season for Everton, but this is far from his first nightmare for his country, and Benjamin Mendy and Lucas Hernandez to come back, he may find himself as fourth choice soon.

Liverpool fans couldn't wait to mock Digne and Everton supporters, highlighting that they've been claiming that Digne is better than Reds star Andrew Robertson, yet whilst Digne was hooked at half time, Robertson was scoring for Scotland.

Of course, level of opposition should be pointed out here as Scotland were facing Cyprus, but Liverpool fans were finding it hard not to laugh at Digne's horror show, feeling he's bang average and another case of an Everton player flopping on the big stage.
