The Dead Don't Die is the latest film from independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch and it looks to offer a new take on the zombie-horror-comedy genre.
The premise of the film puts it up against some tough competition from films like Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland. However, the biggest difference here is that the film focuses on a small town's police force and how they hilariously deal with the undead threat.
But just where is The Dead Don't Die filmed? Is it a real town?
What's The Dead Don't Die about?
As mentioned earlier, the film follows in the footsteps of other films in the zombie-horror-comedy genre as it tells the story of several ordinary people in a usually quiet town and how they deal with the terrifying ordeal of a zombie outbreak.
The film focuses on three out-of-their-depth bespectacled police officers and a strangely Scottish mortician with a penchant for drag makeup and swordplay and their struggle to survive the undead nightmare they find themselves in.
Who's in The Dead Don't Die?
Easily the biggest selling point Jim Jarmusch's latest film has is the incredible cast that's been assembled.
However, also making appearances in the film are Danny Glover, Steve Buscemi, Selena Gomez, Iggy Pop, Caleb Landry Jones, Tom Waits, RZA and Jim Jarmusch's own wife Sara Driver.
Where was The Dead Don't Die filmed?
The film itself is set in the small and usually quiet town of Centerville.
Unsurprisingly, this generic town is a work of fiction, however, the town it is based on is very much real.
Film for The Dead Don't Die took place in Fleischmans, a small town about 140 miles north of New York City.
As a result, the film gets a much more genuine feel as the location adds so much more to the movie than say a studio build would bring.
The Dead Don't Die is released in the US on June 14th but for those of you reading from the UK, you'll have to wait until July 12th, 2019.
