Rupert Grint in the Mcdonalds advert? No, that isn’t his current path!

McDonalds Ad - Fake Rupert Grint

Viewers have been left spellbound at the apparent appearance of Ron Weasley actor Rupert Grint in a new McDonald's ad but is it really him?

Rupert Grint, famed for his role as Ron Weasley in the world-conquering Harry Potter series hasn't quite matched his Potter co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson since the Wizarding franchise came to an end back in 2011.

Since their Potter careers came to an end, Radcliffe has appeared in 15 films, Watson has appeared in 10 and Grint lags behind on just 6 released films.

Now though, eagle-eyed viewers have spotted what appears to be Rupert Grint in a new McDonald's advert, which you can watch below.

What the viewers think

Several people have taken to Twitter to explain their surprise about what seems to be the Harry Potter star's appearance in the McDonald's ad.

Is that really Rupert Grint?

No. At least as far as we can tell.

In the advert, a ginger American farmer talks to the camera about a new burger that McDonald's have on offer here in the UK, it's fairly simple stuff.

While the actor the world-famous fast-food chain have gone for is the spitting image of good old Ron Weasley, it simply isn't him. His voice just isn't right.

If someone dubbed the advert over with Rupert Grint's actual voice then we'd be completely sold on it being him, however.

What is Rupert Grint appearing in next?

As mentioned earlier, Grint has had the least prominent career post-Potter compared to his other co-stars, with his most noteworthy achievement since Harry Potter ending was Grint becoming the owner of an Ice Cream van.

You'll be glad to know that Grint's acting career is still very much alive and there's plenty in the pipeline featuring our favourite ginger actor.

The ABC Murders

Most recently, Grint appeared alongside John Malkovich in The ABC Murders but coming up, Rupert Grint is slated to appear in Apple TV+'s Servant, an original series produced by M. Night Shyamalan which is coming to Apple's new and improved streaming service in the near future. Filming on the series reportedly concluded in March 2019.

As well as that, Grint has an upcoming film role alongside Sean Bean, Charles Dance and James D'Arcy in Instruments of Darkness. It is unclear what point in production the film is at.

However, Grint's career highlight will always be the undoubted success of Postman Pat: The Movie and his role of Josh in the film.
