Manchester United’s Juan Mata is reportedly on the radar of Newcastle United and Galatasaray.

Newcastle United reportedly targeting Juan Mata is quite ambitious, but manager Rafael Benitez’s task of convincing the Manchester United attacking midfielder to move to St. James’ Park has just become harder with the reported joining of Turkish giants Galatasaray to the race.

According to The Sun, Newcastle are interested in signing Mata in the summer transfer window.

The Spain international attacking midfielder is leaving Premier League giants United this month and is available on a free transfer.

Benitez wants to bring the 31-year-old to St. James’ Park if he stays on as the Newcastle manager.

The Spaniard is out of contract at the Magpies this summer, and no new deal is in place.

However, Newcastle are facing competition from Turkish giants Galatasaray, according to a new report.

According to fotomac.com, Galatasaray want to sign Mata on a free transfer this summer.

Fatih Terim’s side won the Turkish Super Lig this season and will feature in the group stage of the 2019-20 Champions League campaign.
