Leeds United fans call for England chance for Kalvin Phillips

Leeds United fans have suggested on Twitter that Kalvin Phillips should be called up to the England team, and that he is better than West Ham United defensive midfielder Declan Rice.

Fans of the Championship club made the comments on Twitter following England’s 3-1 defeat to the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals in Guimaraes.

Rice, who can also operate as a central defender, started the match and played for 105 minutes.

The 20-year-old is a very good and promising young midfielder and is one of the best players in the Premier League, but he did not have a good game against the Netherlands.

 

Rice failed to impose himself on the match, and some Leeds fans were not impressed with him and have called on Twitter for Phillips to be given a chance for England.

The 23-year-old is one of the best central midfielders in the Championship and can also operate as a central defender.

According to WhoScored, the Englishman made 44 appearances in the Championship for Leeds during the 2018-19 campaign, scoring one goal and providing three assists in the process.
