Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has suggested on Twitter that Liverpool should have signed Daniel James, who is set to join Manchester United from Swansea City.

As announced on United’s official Twitter page, James is set to join the Red Devils from Championship club Swansea in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the Red Devils have agreed terms, in principle, with the Welsh outfit over the transfer of the winger.

According to Sky Sports, United will pay the Swans an initial transfer fee of £15 million plus £3m in add-ons for the services of the 21-year-old Wales international.

MacAnthony, who is the chairman of League One club Peterborough and is a Liverpool fan, has suggested on Twitter that Liverpool should have signed the Wales international winger.

Promising talent

James is a very good and promising young winger who will be a good signing for United in the summer transfer window.

According to WhoScored, the 21-year-old winger made 28 starts and five substitute appearances in the Championship for Swansea this season, scoring four goals and providing seven assists in the process.
