John McGinn joined the Villans from Hibs last summer and is a fan favourite amongst both sets of supporters.
Aston Villa have announced their first pre-season friendlies of the summer ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, but some fans are unhappy that one team in particular doesn't feature - just yet, anyway.
The Villans, who are back in the Premier League after having won the Championship playoff final against Derby County, have three fixtures already booked in.
The first friendly that has been announced is away at League One side Shrewsbury Town on Sunday 21 July, kickoff 2pm, while the second, away at League Two outfit Walsall, takes place three days later at 7:45pm.
Charlton Athletic, who will be in the Championship next term after beating Sunderland in the League One playoff final, complete the trio of scheduled friendlies so far, that game - also away - on Saturday 27 July, 3pm kickoff.
The Twitter post relating to the announcement specifically describes them as their "first" pre-season friendlies of the summer, which means more could be on the cards.
If that is the case, then Villa should take a look at booking a date with Hibernian, the club from which they bought John McGinn, who has been a revelation for the claret and blue side.
Here is how some of the Villans faithful reacted to their club's announcement:
