Toulouse midfielder Ibrahim Sangare is reportedly wanted by Everton and Tottenham.
According to L’Equipe, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Toulouse midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, but he wants to stay for another year.
Sangare, 21, joined Toulouse in 2016 from AS Denguele in his native Ivory Coast, and has now emerged as one of the top young talents in France.
The 6ft 3in powerhouse made 28 appearances this season, notching one goal and two assists whilst impressing both on and off the ball in a holding midfield role.
Unsurprisingly, Sangare is now attracting interest, and L’Equipe – as relayed by Les Violets and Foot National – report that Everton and Tottenham are in the mix for his signature.
Arsenal, Southampton and Lyon are also mentioned as targets, but Sangare allegedly wants one more season with Toulouse to continue his development in their first team before making his big move.
However, it’s noted that if Toulouse are offered around €20million to €25million (£17.75million and £22.2million), then they may find it too good to turn down.
Everton may well see Sangare as a potential replacement for Idrissa Gueye if the Senegalese ace moves on, with Sangare having the defensive ability to anchor the Everton midfield.
Tottenham could be offloading Victor Wanyama this summer, and Sangare fits as a strong and smart defensive midfielder to replace him, but they may find that the midfielder is reluctant to trade in regular football for a squad role in England.
