There was a bit of tension in the England camp on Tuesday as Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool players reunited for international duty.

Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-0 in Saturday's Champions League final in Madrid.

And the subdued atmosphere of Harry Kane and Eric Dier greeting Reds duo Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold seemed palpable.

Kane and Dier were on the losing side in Spain and Liverpool fans on Twitter were left cringing over the awkward exchange.

 

Goals from Mo Salah and Divock Origi were enough for the Anfield outfit, who picked up their sixth Champions League title - and first trophy under Jurgen Klopp.

In contrast, Mauricio Pochettino remains trophy-less at Tottenham, having joined five years ago.

You'd hope that the Liverpool and Tottenham players can be singing from the same hymn sheet when it comes to England, who have a Nations League semi-final with the Netherlands on Thursday.
