Chelsea are willing to cash in Fikayo Tomori this summer, according to the Mail, but Celtic will have to pay a club-record £10 million to sign the highly-rated defender.
Alongside Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham, Tomori is one of the most exciting academy graduates to emerge out of West London in recent seasons and he enhanced his growing reputation during a superb season on loan at Derby County, where he was named the Rams’ Player of the Year.
But instead of being given a chance at Stamford Bridge, the Mail claims that Chelsea are expected to sell the Canadian-born England U21 international with clubs in the Bundesliga interested in another exciting Premier League youngster.
The Mirror (19 May, page 66) claimed that Celtic are interested in luring Tomori to Parkhead, potentially seeing him as a replacement for the departing Belgian colossus Dedryck Boyata.
But it remains to be seen whether Celtic can afford to spend £10 million, a fee that would see Tomori exceed Odsonne Edouard as the most expensive player in the history of the Scottish Premiership champions.
