Report: Gracia asks Watford to sign Mexican legend Guillermo Ochoa

Javi Gracia has made a personal request for Watford to reunite him with Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa this summer, according to Record.

A 33-year-old shot-stopper with 101 international caps to his name is available on a free transfer with his contract at Belgian outfit Standard Liege reaching it’s conclusion at the end of June.


A flamboyant glovesman who has a habit for standing out on the biggest stages, Mexico’s 2018 World Cup star would be a terrific addition for any club looking to add some added quality in the goalkeeping department.

And Watford certainly need more competition for Ben Foster with Heurelho Gomes retiring after the 6-0 FA Cup final defeat against Manchester City.

Record claims that Gracia, who coached Ochoa at Malaga, has already made contact with the former Ajaccio and Granada man in an attempt to lure him to Vicarage Road.
