Report: Everton face prospect of losing top talent Bassala Sambou

Everton striker Bassala Sambou has turned down the offer of a new contract at Goodison Park.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton striker Bassala Sambou has rejected a new contract to stay at Goodison Park.

Sambou has been one of Everton’s most exciting prospects at development squad level, but he has not been offered many chances in Marco Silva’s first-team.

And it seems that Everton could now face the prospect of losing Sambou.

 

The Toffees offered him a new two-year deal, but Sambou has turned down the contract.

Sambou has a host of Football League sides chasing his signature, and reportedly feels that his first-team chances would be increased if he left the Toffees.

Sambou’s current deal at Everton expires in just a month, meaning he will be free to join a new club of his choosing.

If Everton do lose the German it could be a blow to them, as he appears to have the potential to make an impact in senior football.

Sambou scored nine goals in 22 appearances for Everton’s development side, as they won the Premier League 2 title this season.
