According to Diario de Noticias in Portugal, Luis Boa Morte has penned a two-year deal to become Everton's new assistant coach.
Sousa has become a manager in his own right with Portuguese top flight side Famalicao, leaving Silva with a major hole to fill in his coaching staff.
Reports over the weekend suggested that ex-Premier League winger Boa Morte was a major candidate for the job, and it seems that a deal is now on the verge of completion.
Boa Morte, 41, is currently working as Maccabi Haifa's assistant, after managing Sintrense and Portimonense Under-23's, whilst he even had a stint as a scout with former club Arsenal.
Many will remember Boa Morte for his time with Arsenal, Southampton, Fulham and West Ham as a player, but Silva knows him from Sporting in Portugal; the pair coached together at the club in the 2014-15 season.
Now, they'll seemingly reunite at Goodison park in a move that few would have predicted even a week ago.
