Everton boss Marco Silva lost his assistant coach Joao Pedro Sousa last month, as he moved on to take charge of Portuguese side Famalicao.
Diario de Noticias in Portugal report that Maccabi Haifa assistant boss Luis Boa Morte is set to become Everton's new assistant coach, reuniting with Silva having worked together at Sporting in the 2014-15 season.
Boa Morte's arrival is certainly interesting, and it may well raise questions about the club's reported pursuit of Andrija Zivkovic, with Correio de Manha claiming that Everton want the £31million winger.
Intriguingly, Boa Morte is very familiar with the Serbian. Record reported last year that Boa Morte – then working as an Arsenal scout – had been posted to watch Zivkovic for the Gunners on a number of occasions.
Boa Morte basically knows Zivkovic inside out by now, and it's very interesting that just as the ex-Arsenal winger heads to Goodison Park, rumours of Zivkovic being an Everton target appear again.
It may just mean that Everton's chances of signing Zivkovic have been boosted, with Boa Morte surely recommending a move for the winger after targeting him for Arsenal, with the stars potentially aligning for Silva.
