Premier League Arsenal need a goalkeeper to replace Petr Cech and reports claim they want La Liga shot-stopper Neto.
Arsenal have offered Valencia goalkeeper Norberto Neto a big pay rise in order to tempt him to the Emirates this summer, according to AS.
Los Che enjoyed a superb end to the 2018/19 campaign, finishing in the top four to secure a place in the Champions League on the final day before beating Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.
As a result, a club who have seen so many of their star players leave in recent seasons, from David Villa to David Silva, Juan Mata to Paco Alcacer, will need to prepare themselves for yet another summer raid.
Neto is one of many Valencia players who has been tipped to leave the Mestalla and AS claims that Arsenal have taken an interest.
With Petr Cech retiring, The Gunners need a goalkeeper to provide competition for Bernd Leno and the former Fiorentina and Juventus stopper appears to be their top target. AS adds that Arsenal have even offered Neto a substantially improved contract – one that Valencia simply cannot match.
Valencia’s general director Mateu Alemany told AS in May that the club would not be able to hold onto Neto if a big-money offer arrives given the salary cap in operation at the Mestalla.
