Mauricio Pochettino was unable to guide his Tottenham Hotspur side to victory in the Champions League final.
Tottenham boss Pochettino has attracted the attentions of some of Europe’s biggest clubs in recent times, after doing a wonderful job at White Hart Lane.
And although Spurs are said to be confident that Pochettino will stay, the Argentine is yet to definitively confirmed that he will be with them next season.
Pochettino has been putting pressure on Spurs to spend, and may want to see more ambition from the board in the transfer window.
Indeed, when asked about Pochettino’s future Lloris was not giving much away.
The goalkeeper said: “It is normal to have speculation around all the best managers. I am sure he has an idea of what he wants and only he can talk about that.”
Pochettino is on a £160,000-a-week contract with Spurs (Telegraph), and it still would be a major shock if he did not stay on.
Spurs have made vast progress in recent times, and there is a feeling that their journey to the Champions League final is just the start of what they could achieve with Pochettino at the helm.
