Rafa Benitez is reportedly eyeing the double deal if Newcastle United have new owners during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from the Daily Express, Rafa Benitez wants to bring Kevin Trapp and Jan Hurtado to Newcastle if the Bin Zayed Group complete their takeover at St James’ Park.
There is an enormous amount of uncertainty on Tyneside right now, with the Express noting that Benitez is out of contract at the end of the month, and it appears that Mike Ashley could be on his way out of the club in the near future.
Despite his own future remaining up in the air, Benitez is working on potential targets. The Daily Express has reported that he is interested in Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Trapp, who spent this past season on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Martin Dubravka has been an outstanding signing for Newcastle, so it will be interesting to see which role Benitez plans to hand him should he manage to bring Trapp in, but it would surely leave the path clear for the likes of Rob Elliot, Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman to consider their own futures.

Meanwhile, the Express adds that Hurtado is also on Benitez’s radar should the takeover go through. He is reportedly set to be available for around £7 million, with the likes of Marseille, Sampdoria and Atalanta also interested in the 19-year-old forward.
Hurtado – who has scored two league goals in 17 league appearances this season – is now an international teammate of Salomon Rondon having made his debut for Venezuela earlier this year and earning his second cap on Sunday.
