Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Real Betis ace Giovani Lo Celso.
According to The Mirror, Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is keen to work with Mauricio Pochettino as Tottenham Hotspur chase his signature.
Lo Celso, 23, was struggling for first-team football at Paris Saint-Germain under Unai Emery, and then moved out on loan to Betis in August to play regularly.
The Argentine has thrive since making his move to Andalusia, notching 16 goals and six assists for Real Betis in a superb season, which saw his loan move become permanent.
Now, the former Rosario Central talent is attracting major interest, with Tottenham already offering £53million, but that has been rejected.
The Mirror now report that Lo Celso is keen to work with Spurs boss Pochettino, with his fellow Argentine seemingly a major pull for the skilful playmaker.
With Betis wanting £88million – Lo Celso’s release clause – for their star midfielder, a move seems unlikely right now, unless a compromise can be reached.
Spurs certainly need more midfield thrust after a poor attacking display in the Champions League final, and Lo Celso can help provide that.
Armed with the knowledge that he seemingly wants to play for Pochettino, Spurs have at least cleared one hurdle, but face a major one in tempting Betis into a deal.
