Lennon has said that it is important that Celtic refresh the squad this summer, and he has suggested that he will bring in British players.
Lennon told The Scottish Sun: “Recruitment will be important, we want to freshen things up a little bit. You like to bring British players in but the market can be a bit inflated now because of what’s going on in England.
“That was always the case with the English Premier League but we felt we did some good business at the time.
“There are players in the British market who would appeal to us. We are working hard and we’ll do our business quietly and as quickly as we can.”
Exciting summer ahead
Lennon’s aforementioned comments do suggest that Celtic will be quite busy in the summer transfer window, and that will be encouraging for the fans.
Although the Hoops have a very good squad - the best and the strongest in Scotland - new players are needed.
A striker, a right-back and a central defender should be at the top of Lennon’s transfer wishlist.
Celtic won the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup this season - their third successive domestic treble.
The Hoops, though, failed to progress to the group stage of the Champions League, and Lennon will have to rectify that during the 2019-20 campaign.
For that to happen, it is important that Celtic bring in quality players who will give that extra to take the team to Europe’s premier club competition.
