Hooper was released by Sheffield Wednesday at the start of this month.

Gary Hooper has shared a photo of himself and several former Sheffield Wednesday teammates on holiday in Los Angeles.

Hooper is pictured alongside the Wednesday captain, Tom Lees, and Owls players, Sam Winnall, Steven Fletcher and Adam Reach.

The Bristol City right-back, Jack Hunt – who was sold by Sheffield Wednesday a year ago – and a seventh man, presumed to be the Millwall striker, Tom Elliott – who progressed through Leeds United’s youth ranks alongside Lees – are also in the shot which was shared on Hooper’s Instagram.

The 31-year-old was released by Wednesday earlier this month after an injury-hit couple of seasons.

Commenting on Hooper’s post, one Owls fan wrote: “Over 200k a week in one picture”, to which the striker replied: “(A)nd the rest”.

Hooper has been strongly linked with a return to his former club Celtic this summer, with Fulham and Aston Villa also listed as suitors.

He scored or made 43 goals in 82 games for Sheffield Wednesday.
