Meire left Sheffield Wednesday in February, having previously been employed by Charlton Athletic.

Katrien Meire has announced she is leaving the United Kingdom altogether after her spell as Sheffield Wednesday CEO.
Meire departed Wednesday in February – less than 14 months after she arrived at Hillsborough from Charlton Athletic.
But after five-and-a-half years on this side of the English Channel, the Belgian is now heading overseas – although in what capacity remains to be seen.
Posting on Instagram earlier, Meire wrote: “My Brexit I negotiated it in less than 3 months instead of 3 years and counting Thank you so much…these last 5,5 years gave me some of the best moments in my life, beyond any wild imagination! This not a goodbye but merely a see you later! “
Meire may have left behind few friends at Charlton, but was able to quickly change opinions at Sheffield Wednesday.
The 34-year-old’s Owls departure has yet to be fully explained – although it occurred, perhaps tellingly, less than three weeks after Steve Bruce began his job as manager at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton will meet again at Championship level next season, after the Addicks beat Sunderland in the League One play-off final on Sunday.
Was Meire as bad as many people liked to make out?
