Eden Hazard comments on Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League progress

Eden Hazard has admitted to BT Sport that he thinks it’s terrible that Tottenham Hotspur have made the Champions League final.

The departing Chelsea man claims that his side always want to be the top side in London, but their achievements in Europe have been eclipsed by Spurs this season.

While Chelsea did win the Europa League, Tottenham have the potential to lift the Champions League trophy.


And Hazard said: “When you play for Chelsea you want to be the best in London. When Tottenham are in the Champions League final, that’s terrible.”

Tottenham take on Liverpool at the weekend with Mauricio Pochettino’s side looking to win the Champions League for the first time.

Spurs have not won a major trophy since 2008, but could lift Europe’s biggest prize on Saturday evening.

Chelsea did finish one point ahead of Tottenham in the Premier League, with the two sides finishing third and fourth respectively.

Hazard may well have played his last game for Chelsea, as he appears to be on the verge of a transfer to Real Madrid.
