The Villa left-back has impressed for the Championship playoff winners over the past few months.

Aston Villa left-back Neil Taylor has been called up to the Wales squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers in June.

The Dragons, who have played just one fixture so far in the qualifying round - the 1-0 win over Slovakia - will face Croatia in Osijek on 8 June before travelling to Budapest to face Hungary three days later.

Taylor, capped 41 times by Wales, played every minute of the country's historic Euro 2016 campaign in France and scored one goal, against Russia, as Chris Coleman's side went all the way to the semi-finals (Transfermarkt).

Since the start of 2018, however, the 30-year-old defender has found international game time harder to come by, with just one game under his belt - the 1-0 friendly win over Trinidad and Tobago (Transfermarkt).

Taylor has impressed for Dean Smith's side this season, making 34 Championship appearances (Transfermarkt) as the Villans surged from mid-table to the top six between March and May, before triumphing in the playoffs and earning a return to the Premier League.

Here is how some of the claret and blue faithful responded to Villa's Twitter post confirming the defender's call-up:
