Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has been at the centre of talks about a two-year loan move to Werder Bremen for a number of weeks now with Mein Werder suggesting that the Serbian could be on his way back to the Bundesliga.
A £5 million signing from Red Star Belgrade in 2017, Grujic has found game time hard to come by at Anfield but a loan spell at Hertha Berlin last season highlighted just how talented he is.
The 23-year-old made a huge impression at the Olimpiastadion with Hertha’s sporting director Michael Preetz tipping him for a bright future at Anfield, as reported by Goal.
And, according to Mein Werder, Bremen have hatched a plan to lure Grujic to the north of Germany though these ‘extremely complex’ negotiations have a long way to go. Talks have been underway now for a number of weeks.
Grujic was close to joining Werder Bremen last summer too before joining Hertha instead.
The report adds, however, that Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt and feels his young midfielder would be in good hands at the Weser Stadion.
