Premier League giants Spurs and Arsenal have both been linked with Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez.

Ayoze Perez feels he might have to leave Newcastle United if he is to fulfil his dream of playing for the Spanish national team, according to the Chronicle, as the in-form forward continues to be linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

The 25-year-old enjoyed the most potent Premier League season of his career in 2018/19, scoring 12 times in 37 top flight appearances as Rafa Benitez’s side comfortably avoided relegation. Perez even netted his first career hat-trick against Southampton.

Despite this, he was still overlooked by Spain coach Luis Enrique for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against the Faroe Islands and Sweden.

And Perez is becoming increasingly aware that his hopes of a maiden international appearance will continue to go unfulfilled if he stays at a bottom half Premier League club as opposed to joining a team in La Liga or one that regularly plays European football.

CalcioNapoli24 reported on Tuesday that Champions League finalists Tottenham are ‘one step away’ from completing a deal for the former Tenerife youngster, having made a bid of around £25 million.

Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal are also keen, according to FC Inter News.
