Emilio Izaguirre has turned down a contract extension at Celtic, according to Herald Scotland, and is now set to leave the Scottish Premiership champions for the second time in two years.
A bargain £650,000 signing from Motagua nine years ago, Izaguirre has been a terrific servant for the club and sealed his seventh league title in Celtic colours this season.
But, just one year after he returned to Parkhead after a short-term spell in the Middle East, Izaguirre is set to bid farewell once again.
The Herald claims that the 33-year-old has been offered the chance to extend a contract which expires this summer but he has decided that his future lies elsewhere.
Izaguirre, who has earned 96 caps for the Honduran national team, has also told his agent to find him another club. The left-back would be keen on a move to the MLS in order to be closer to his homeland but he is also open to the idea of joining another club in Europe.
The veteran defender made 19 appearances in all competitions as Celtic sealed a third successive domestic treble in 2018/19.
