Should Leeds look at Abel Hernandez again?

It’s deja vu for Leeds United in more ways than one this summer.

Not only are they trying to gain promotion all over again, but Leeds have an option to sign Abel Hernandez, on a free transfer again.

This is because Hernandez’s contract at CSKA Moscow has been cut short.

CSKA announced last night that they have terminated Hernandez’s deal.

Hernandez’s future was one of the saga’s of last summer.

After quitting Hull City after his contract expired, several teams took interest in the Uruguayan as a free agent.

Leeds were one of them, with the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting last July that Leeds were in advanced talks with the striker.

He took an offer at CSKA Moscow instead, where he has struggled for form and fitness.

Hernandez played just 15 games, scoring three goals.

Despite his injury record, Leeds should still consider the striker, who has proven to be prolific in the Championship.

If he has lowered his wage demands after a disappointing year, this could be ideal for Leeds to snap him up.
