Wolverhampton Wanderers scouted Inter Milan forward Andrea Pinamonti during Thursday’s clash between Italy and Mexico at the U20 World Cup, according to FC Inter News.
The 20-year-old striker has long been seen as one of the most promising youngsters to emerge out of the Nerazzuri’s academy in the last ten years and he enhanced his reputation during a fine loan spell at Frosinone across 2018/19.
Pinamonti scored five times for the Serie A outfit to spark interest from clubs across the continent.
FC Inter News reports that Champions League semi-finalists Ajax are keen, as are La Liga outfit Real Valladolid. Brescia and Parma want Pinamonti too, the latter failing with a £7 million bid during the January transfer window.
And then there is Wolves.
A club who have made a habit of signing some of Europe’s brightest talents, FC Inter News claims that Wolves sent a scout to watch Pinamonti during Italy’s 1-1 draw with Mexico during the U20 World Cup in Poland last week.
Pinamonti started although he failed to get his name on the score sheet. He did grab the winner in the second group game against Ecuador on Sunday, however.
Interestingly, Gazzetta dello Sport reported in January 2018 that Wolves were showing an interest in Pinamonti and it seems that they still haven’t given up.
