Premier League champions Manchester City will reportedly look at Real Betis’s La Liga ace Lo Celso, with Guardiola particularly keen.

Pep Guardiola is interested in bringing Real Betis star Giovani Lo Celso to Manchester City and will use the upcoming Copa America to scout the play-maker in action, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Lo Celso only joined Betis on a permanent deal from Paris Saint-Germain last month, having produced 16 goals for the club during the 2018/19 campaign on loan in La Liga.

But it is expected that the Andalucian outfit will cash in and make a substantial profit on the 12-time Argentina international over the summer.

The MEN reports that Tottenham Hotspur have made a bid of around £52 million but they will face competition from Manchester City.

Two-time Premier League winning manager Guardiola is reported to have made a ‘personal request’ for Lo Celso, who he believes could replace 33-year-old club legend David Silva at the Etihad Stadium.

And the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss will run the rule over Lo Celso during the Copa America. Lionel Scaloni’s side will take on Colombia, Paraguay and invitees Qatar in group B once the tournament kicks off in Brazil next month.
