Serie A giants AC Milan could be forced to sell Donnarumma with Premier League giants Arsenal allegedly circling.
Arsenal are looking to take advantage of AC Milan’s failure to secure Champions League football, according to Tuttomercatoweb, with Unai Emery’s side plotting a huge move for Italian international goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
At the age of 20, Donnarumma has already made 164 appearances for the Rossoneri and hasn’t missed a single Serie A fixture since the 2015/16 season.
And he continues to establish himself as one of the finest goalkeeping prospects of his generation, having first established himself as Milan’s undisputed number one at the tender age of just 16 – a feat almost unheard of at the top level of European football.
But with the Italian giants finishing fifth in Serie A and missing out on the Champions League once again, Milan could be forced to sell a number of their star players to raise funds and avoid potential Financial Fair Play sanctions.
And, according to TMW, Arsenal are circling with The Gunners looking for a replacement for the retiring Petr Cech.
Donnarumma will cost a club record £62 million, however, meaning Arsenal themselves will probably have to secure Champions League qualification themselves to fund a potential deal.
The Gunners can only seal a place in the tournament by beating Chelsea in tomorrow’s Europa League final.
