Liverpool reportedly want to sign the La Liga ace.

According to a report from Spanish publication AS, Liverpool are interested in signing Real Sociedad ace Diego Llorente this summer, and some Reds fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

The 25-year-old is a centre-back by trade, but he can also operate as a deep-lying midfielder, and the Reds have reportedly opened the bidding with a €25 million (£22 million) offer.

Llorente is a solid player, and for just £22 million, he might prove to be good value for Liverpool.

There will be question marks hanging over his head, however, regarding whether he possesses the physical attributes needed to be a success in the Premier League, what with its robust nature.

Liverpool already have Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren as centre-back options, so unless Jurgen Klopp wants to sell one of those, there doesn’t really seem to be the need for another central defender.

And some Liverpool fans took to Twitter, sharing their disdain for the rumours linking their club with a move for Llorente…
