Reported Celtic managerial target Claudio Ranieri wants an intriguing project

Claudio Ranieri is reportedly on Celtic’s radar.

Reported Celtic managerial target Claudio Ranieri has told Gianlucadimarzio.com that he wants to be in charge of a club where there is “an intriguing project”.

Ranieri is in charge of AS Roma at the moment, but the former Leicester City and Chelsea manager will leave the Serie A outfit at the end of the season.

According to Calciomercatoweb.it, the Italian tactician is a managerial candidate for the Hoops.

 

Neil Lennon is the manager of Celtic at the moment, having been appointed in the role in February 2019 until the end of the season following the departure of Brendan Rodgers to Leicester City in the Premier League.

Ranieri has suggested that he is ready to take charge of another club after leaving Roma, and has said that he wants “an intriguing project”.

Ranieri told Gianlucadimarzio.com: “My future? I see myself as a European coach, so I'll go where I'll find an intriguing project.”

Good managerial appointment for Celtic?

Ranieri is a hugely respected football manager who has been in charge of big clubs such as Chelsea, Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

The Italian tactician will be a very good managerial appointment for Celtic, especially given his extensive experience in European football.
