Atlus has been sharing a lot of sceenshots and videos of Persona 5 The Royal lately, and the Japanese developer has now released a clip that introduces fans to the expansion’s new confidant, Takuto Maruki.
Persona 5 The Royal is an expansion similar to Persona 4 Golden, and it boasts a new Phantom Thief, unique areas to explore in Tokyo, and better optimisation for a faster experience.
There’s also a mysterious character who shares Joker’s bed, in addition to extra confidants (previously known as Social Links).

Atlus introduces new Persona 5 The Royal confidant
Atlus’ latest Persona 5 The Royal clip shows new confidant Takuto Maruki introducing himself to the students of Shujin Academy.
Maruki is a part-time school counsellor that was appointed after a certain episode involving one of Shujin’s teachers. The character seems like an anxious fellow with how he checks if the microphone is working, but the students at least appear to be receptive of him.
The inclusion of the school counsellor will allow players to learn new information about the likes of Ryuji and Ann, and Atlus has also teased that there’ll be more than just Maruki.
In addition to this clip, Atlus has also released footage of the game’s highly-anticipated third-semester.
